NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Nacogdoches Police Department arrested a 20-year-old man on a felony drug possession after he was allegedly caught trespassing on property known for the illegal drug activity Thursday and walked following after an order to stop.
Chiantai Jordan, of Nacogdoches, is still being held at the Nacogdoches County Jail on a second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance between 4 and 400 grams charge, a Class A misdemeanor evading arrest charge, and a Class C misdemeanor no driver's license charge. Collectively, his bail has been set at $27,500.
According to the arrest affidavit, an NPD officer tried to make contact with Jordan for trespassing on property on Fox Street that has been boarded up because it is a location known for illegal drug activity, and when he saw the patrol unit, he "immediately began walking away quickly."
The officer yelled, 'Police! Stop," and Jordan kept on walking away from him, the affidavit stated. While Jordan continued looking at the officer, he allegedly walked to a nearby residence, went inside, and locked the door.
A short time later, the door opened again, and Jordan came back outside, the affidavit stated.
After the NPD officer took Jordan into custody, he searched the suspect and found a clear plastic baggie containing about 20 round pills in assorted colors with a dolphin stamped on some of them in the man's shorts pocket, the affidavit stated. A field test revealed the pills to be MDMA, or Ecstasy.
Jordan was also charged with an unrelated driving without a license warrant out of the Nacogdoches Municipal Court.
