HOUSTON COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

Deputies with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 44-year-old man after he allegedly got into a fight with his elderly roommate early Saturday evening and punched him in the eye.

Gregory Scott, of Kennard, is still being held in the Houston County Jail on a Class A misdemeanor assaulting an elderly person. No bail amount was available.

According to the arrest affidavit, a HCSO deputy was dispatched to a house in the 500 block of Campbell Street in Kennard at about 5:17 p.m. in reference to an assault.  The victim told the deputy that he had arrived at the residence to pick up his belongings, so he could move out.

When Westerman saw the victim, he confronted the man in the living room and got angry with him, the affidavit stated. Westerman allegedly then told him to get out.

At that point, the victim went to the bedroom in an attempt to grab his belongings, and Westerman and another man followed him. According to the affidavit, the second man grabbed the victim and Westerman reached over his shoulder to punch the victim in the right eye.

The deputy noticed that the victim’s right eye was red, the affidavit stated.

Westerman allegedly denied hitting the victim and refused to give the HCSO deputy his side of the story.
