Livingston Police officers arrested a 51-year-old woman Monday afternoon after they found her sitting in a creek with a bottle of vodka, and she threw mud at one of them, hitting the officer in the face.

Michelle Lee Johnson is still being held in the Polk County jail on a felony assault of a public servant charge and a misdemeanor public intoxication charge. No bail amounts were available.

According to Lt. Matt Parrish, a spokesman for the Livingston Police Department, LPD officers responded to a complaint of an intoxicated woman in the woods behind Godtel Ministries, which is located at 1600 S. Washington Street.

When the officers found Johnson, she was “uncooperative and highly intoxicated,” Parrish said. He said she was holding a gallon of vodka as she sat in a creek.

The officers tried to approach Johnson, and she allegedly grabbed mud from the creek and threw it at them, hitting one officer in the face.

Johnson was arrested without any further incident and taken to the county jail.
