OXNARD, CA (KTRE) - After ranking dead last in 2013, the Cowboys defense vastly improved under defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli in his first year with Dallas last season.
Dallas ended up 15th in points allowed, but ranked second in the league with 31 takeaways.
The biggest area of improvement needs to come in taking down the quarterback. The Cowboys were 28th in sacks in 2014, but with the addition of Greg Hardy and Randy Gregory, Dallas has more than enough talent to see improvement.
"It means a lot when you can add to the pass rush but everyone has to do their job to get the one-on-ones and hopefully they make plays for this team," said linebacker Anthony Hitchens.
"I think when you get different pieces, now you got to mold it together into a defense where everyone is disciplined the same, everything is on the same idea and same platform," said Marinelli. "But we've got in some good players."
