Joaquin man dies in head-on-collision in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Joaquin man is dead following a head-on-collision Tuesday afternoon in Shelby County.

According to DPS, 67 year-old Kenneth Davis was driving a Kenworth truck-tractor north on State Highway 87, about 4 miles south of Shelbyville, when he crossed lanes and struck a 2005 Mac dump truck.

The reported stated Davis was air lifted to LSU Medical Center in Shreveport where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the dump truck was identified as Mark Baughn, 44 years-old from Milam. Baughn was taken to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. As of 10:30 Tuesday night, a condition was not known.
