ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Four people were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred near the Americas mobile home park on State Highway 94 Wednesday afternoon.
The wreck occurred in the Hudson area. A Chevrolet Equinox SUV ran off the road near the trailer park and crashed into a tree.
Hudson Police Chief Jimmy Casper said Equinox was being driven by Gregory Davis, a 22-year-old student driver. He said Davis was turning into the mobile home park and realized that he was about to hit a parked car. Casper said Davis tried to swerve and wound up hitting a tree.
Dakota Thomas, 22, Linda Allen, 26, and Kelli Musick, 26, were also injured in the accident. Everyone but Thomas was wearing a seat belt when the accident occurred.
Davis, Allen, and Musick were taken to a Lufkin hospital for treatment of their injuries, and Thomas was airlifted from the scene via helicopter.
Hudson Police officers, Lufkin firefighters, Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputies, and Hudson volunteer firefighters assisted at the scene.
Both directions of traffic were blocked, so a medevac helicopter could land on Highway 94. Before then, emergency personnel were alternating and letting one direction of travel go at a time.
