LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Are you a middle child that often feels left out? Well, Wednesday is finally your day.

August 12th is National Middle Child Day.

Elizabeth Walker created the "holiday" as National Middle Children's Day in the 1980s but it was later changed to just National Middle Child Day, according to National Day Calendar.

The holiday was also originally intended to occur on the second Saturday of August but August 12th became the accepted date.

Researchers say that birth order can have an impact on children's personality traits. One personality study found that middle children are often artistic and creative.

And if you're in the middle of the pack -- you are not alone -- you'd be surprised how many celebrities are also middle children!
