Crime Stoppers Crime of the week: Stolen trailer

LUFKIN, TX (News Release) - The night of August 13, a trailer was stolen from the 2300 block of North Timberland Drive in Lufkin.

Employees of Angelina Precision Waterjet reported that the trailer, which is owned by the business, was parked in front of their shop building and had a lock on the hitch. They said that the trailer was outside the business the evening of August 13 and at 8:00 a.m. the next morning they noticed it was missing.

No part of the hitch lock was found at the scene and the investigating officer speculated that the thieves either cut the lock from the trailer or used a tow truck or wheel lift device to remove the trailer.

The trailer is 16 feet long and has tandem axles, wood floor, white spoke wheels, pipe top rail, and a side-mount, square, drop-leg jack. It has side-load ramp holders but no ramps and damage on the inside of the right side top rail, between the axles. Originally, the trailer was blue but it was painted black earlier this year.  At the time of the theft, Texas license plate 982609H was bolted to the rear of the left fender.
