CENTER, TX (KTRE) - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce is preparing for the 39th annual East Texas Poultry Festival.
The annual event will kickoff on Sept.23 with a chicken fajita lunch on the downtown square.The festival will be Oct.1-3. This year's events include a 5k run, arts and crafts booths, a quilt show, a photography show as well as various musical acts.
"It gives us a chance to pause and be together for the community to salute the industry that is the basis of our economic development," Chamber President Pam Phelps said. "Tyson has been our largest employer and over 200 poultry farms in the county and they are growing."
