NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Prayer through music will come from the Pineflat C.M.E. Church in Nacogdoches Saturday night.
The Gospel music performed by the regional, multi-denominational choir promises to be entertaining, joyous and meaningful.
"We're coming in with great expectations with the beneficiaries of this year's concert", said Rev. Karen Christopher, Pineflat's pastor and a choir member. "We are making final contact with a couple of families that we are going to benefit this year. The concert will be this Saturday night, August 29 at 7, right here at the Pineflat C.M.E. Church."
The Karen Biggers-Tutt Concert Choir is named for and performs in memory of a woman who had a vision. Biggers-Tutt died of a heart attack in her sleep wrote her son Charles Tutt. Prior to her death Biggers-Tutt was encouraging the New St. Matthew Baptist Church and Pineflat CME to combine their choirs. She died before that could happen, but her friends saw to it her wish was carried out. Over the years members of different church choirs joined in the singing. Eventually the choir was named the KBT Concert Choir.
