Students at Brandon Elementary School in Lufkin took the second portion of the TAKS exam Wednesday. They've been getting ready for the TAKS test for several months. Brandon faculty members said the kids are more than ready for the exam. They're expected to pass with flying colors.
Counselor Brenda Walker said, "The boys and girls really are very aware of the importance of this test and what it means to them, even in the future. They know that if they do well this time, they're probably going to do well in the future."
Students who don't pass the TAKS exam this time around can retest in April.
