LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - The Lufkin Salvation Army welcomed their new corps officer Thursday at a meet and greet and the Adult Day Center.
Captains Jason and Michelle Moore left the Dallas area for Lufkin after the previous officers left for Florida.
According to the Moore's, Lufkin has been very welcoming and they are looking forward to working with such a giving and loving community.
"It's an opportunity to really do some great work in the community," said Captain Jason Moore. "We know we can help people that are having crises and we're happy to come in and try to help them come out of that crisis."
The Salvation Army said they will start planning for the annual Christmas fundraiser in a few weeks.
