LUFKIN, TX (News Release) -

A vacant residence on South Chestnut Street in Lufkin was burglarized and vandalized multiple times during August, and you might be able to help identify the responsible criminals.

The residence, which the owner operates as rental property, had been vacant since the first of July. Early in August, the owner discovered that someone had vandalized the inside of the residence and had stolen six air conditioning units, a kitchen stove, and a water heater. Two weeks later, the owner found that the criminals had returned and taken a refrigerator.

The owner placed a game camera outside the residence in an attempt to determine who was responsible for the burglaries and vandalism.  Mid-day on August 22, the camera captured the images included here of two men coming and going from the residence. The owner was not able to identify the men, and investigators do not know whether the men were involved in the burglaries or vandalism but identifying them might help the investigation.

If you can identify either of the men shown in these images or if you can provide information that will help investigators solve this case, call Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers at (936) 639-TIPS or submit a tip at www.DETCS.tips. Crime Stoppers calls and tips are anonymous and Crime Stoppers may pay a reward if the information you provide leads to an arrest.

You have to be quick if you want to be the first to submit a Crime Stoppers tip. Crime Stoppers will accept tips until the investigation is complete but a reward can only be paid to the first, most accurate tip received.
