DIBOLL, TX (KTRE) - Officers with the Diboll Police Department met a country music legend after a traffic stop Tuesday.
According to the Diboll Police Department, a DPD officer pulled a vehicle over for speeding and found out that the driver was Mickey Gilley, a well-known country music star whose heyday was in the 1970s and 1980s.
Sgt. Brandan Lovell and Officer Rodney Cheshire of the Diboll Police Department posed for pictures with the country music singer, and the pictures were posted on DPD's Facebook page.
"It was a HUGE honor for Mickey Gilley to meet Diboll officers St. Brandan Lovell and Rodney Cheshire," the Facebook post stated. "He will talk about this for years. Lol."
Although the Diboll Police Department posted the picture on its social media page, Chief Steve Baker wouldn't let his officers talk to East Texas News about the traffic stop on Gilley.
Gilley was issued a warning.
