Police report: Lufkin man smoked K2 before talking to probation officer

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin Police officers arrested an 18-year-old man after he allegedly showed up at the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Council office intoxicated Tuesday morning.

Joshua Reed Storey is still being held at the Angelina County Jail on an order for surrender charge from the Angelina County Adult Probation office for assault causing bodily injury. He was booked in Wednesday for that charge.

On Tuesday, he was booked into the jail on two misdemeanor charges - possession of drug paraphernalia and public intoxication. He posted a collective bail of $1,000 and was released later that day.

According to the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, the alleged incident at ADAC occurred at about 9:40 a.m. Tuesday. While he was talking to his probation officer earlier that morning, Storey allegedly that he had smoked K2 earlier that morning. As a result, Storey's probation officer ordered him to take a drug test.

The police report stated that Storey had bloodshot, watery eyes and that his speech was slurred when he talked to the responding LPD police officer.

A search of Storey's car revealed an unspecified amount of "green, leafy substance" believed to be K2, the daily activity report stated.

Earlier Tuesday, Lufkin Police officers worked an accident in which Storey's car hit a parked vehicle.
