SABINE COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - The victim of what authorities say is an internal theft made their jobs a lot easier by doing most of the investigative work himself in having his two daughters arrested.

April Dawn Buffalow, 31, and Danielle Denise Shirley, 29, both of Milam, are each charged with third-degree theft and credit card abuse. Buffalow is also being charged with a violation probation. Her bond is set at $150,000. Shirley also has a charge of delivery of a controlled substance. Her bond is set at $200,000.

Sabine County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy George Griffith said the women are the daughter and stepdaughter of the victim. The victim used to work as a deputy with the sheriff's office and now has his own business, where the women worked.

According to the arrest affidavit, the man said Shirley and Buffalow were using two fuel cards and two credit cards without his permission, dating back to December 2014.

He said they charged a total of $15,170.92 on the credit cards and $43,275.01 on the fuel cards.

The man said he went to one of the gas stations where the charge occurred and saw video of Shirley at the counter. The store manager also provided multiple receipts the women has signed after each purchase.

Griffith said the man provided video and receipts to investigators, making their job easier in making the arrests.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for the pair on Aug. 31 and they were arrested the same day.
