ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - After joint investigation with Child Protective Services, Trinity County's Precinct 4 constable's office arrested a 27-year-old Apple Springs man Tuesday in connection to allegations that he back-handed his 9-year-old daughter multiple times.
Pct. 4 Constable Reggie Olive said that his office and CPS investigators began to investigate after they received a tip about possible abuse. Olive said the joint investigation revealed that Joshua Michael Aycock back-handed his daughter in the chest and arm hard enough that it knocked her breath out and left a bruise on her arm.
After an arrest warrant was obtained, Aycock was arrested at his home on Willis Road. He was charged with third-degree felony injury to a child. Calsi Aycock, his wife, was also arrested for failure to report, which is a misdemeanor.
Joshua and Calsi Aycock were both arrested without incident and taken to the county jail.
As a result of the investigation CPS officials have removed all three of the couple's children, ages 9, 4, and 1, from the couple's home.
