East Texas native Gus Johnson leaves impressive last impression on Dallas Cowboys
DALLAS, TX -
It was a win for the Dallas Cowboys Thursday night against the Houston Texans, and a win for former Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack Gus Johnson.
Johnson had a 21-yard touchdown in the third quarter to give the Cowboys a 14-7 lead on the Texans. The Cowboys went on to win the game 21-14.
The running back ended the night with 16 carries for 68 yards. With it being the last preseason game before the 53-man roster cut, it was Johnson's last time to make an impression on the Cowboys' coaching staff in order to earn a spot on the team.
The 53-man roster cuts have to be made by Saturday, September 5th before the start of the regular season. Johnson will know his fate then.
