Abortion Law Filed, Poll Results

by Jessica Cervantez

We now have the final results of our web poll about the newly filed abortion bill being considered by Texas lawmakers.

The bill would make it mandatory for doctors to get parental consent before performing an abortion on girls 17-years-old and younger.

"Do you think doctors should have to get parental consent before performing an abortion on a minor?"

89% believe consent from parents should be required.

6% say you shouldn't need it.

5% say the law should stay as it is right now. In Texas, parents are notified two days before the procedure.
