DALLAS, TX - After a great run with the Dallas Cowboys this preseason, former SFA Lumberjack Gus Johnson has been released from the Dallas Cowboys to make room for their 53-man roster.
The undrafted rookie started the first and fourth preseason games for Dallas. The running back scored two touchdowns in four games with the Cowboys, including a 21-yard touchdown Thursday night to give Dallas a 14-7 lead on the Houston Texans.
Johnson also lead the Cowboys in rushing this preseason with 37 carries for 139 yards.
The rookie's run with the Cowboys may not be completely over just yet though. The Cowboys reportedly have intentions of signing him to their practice squad on Sunday. Johnson would first have to clear waivers for no other team to sign them to their final roster.
