The Lufkin/Angelina County Chamber of Commerce shined the spotlight on three area businesses Friday. It was all part of their 17th annual Small Business of The Year awards. A large crowd gathered at Crown Colony Country Club to see the three businesses get their awards.
We spoke to a couple of this year's winners who said this has been an overwhelming experience.
"It's been an honor to serve our community and families in such a bad time of need. We can actually minister to them and help them get through the tough times," said Roy Carroway, the owner of the Carroway Funeral Home.
"We're so overwhelmed and happy about getting this award. It means so much for us and our team because we started with just an idea. We didn't know where it was going to go," said Chris Fleniken, a co-owner of Real Graphics. "To get recognition eight years down the road means a lot to us."
"There are several great businesses in this town and in this community so to be recognized as one of the best is truly an honor," said Emily Fleniken, a co-owner of Real Graphics owner.
This year's winners were:
- Lufkin Daily News, division one.
- Carroway Funeral, division two.
- Real Graphics, division three.
Congratulations to this year's winners.
