NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Wedding bells rang in Nacogdoches Saturday as Paul LaFleur and Brian Osmond tied the knot.
LaFleur and Osmond were the first same-sex couple to obtain a marriage license in Angelina County back in June.
Friends and family looked on as the couple were wed at a ceremony in Nacogdoches.
The couple was excited to finally tie the know after waiting a very long time to do so.
"It feels great to finally, as a same-sex couple, have the same legal rights as everyone else," LaFleur said.
"The response from the community has been very positive," Osmond said. "It was a very cool thing to see."
The couple said they hope they encourage other same-sex couples in East Texas to claim their legal right in marriage.
