Affidavit: Lufkin man tried to run man, girlfriend, 2 children off road

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - Deputies with the Angelina County Sheriff's Office arrested at 25-year-old Lufkin man after he allegedly followed another man, his girlfriend, and their children, tried to ram their car, and attempted to run them off the road.

Jeffery Wayne Snowden, is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a third-degree felony stalking charge, a third-degree felony motion to revoke probation for assault-family violence impede breath or circulation, Class A misdemeanor MTRP unlawful restraint charge, Class A misdemeanor MTRP assault-family violence causing bodily injury charge, and a Class A misdemeanor causes bodily injury to a date or family member charge, and a Class B misdemeanor harassment charge.

Collectively, Snowden's bail amount was set at $11,500 for three of the charges.

According to the arrest affidavit, the latest alleged stalking incident occurred on June 7.

One of the alleged victims told deputies that he, his 3-year-old daughter, his girlfriend, and her 1-year-old son left McDonald's and headed to a home on Foster Road and passed Snowden, who turned around and started chasing them, the affidavit stated. Snowden allegedly tried to ram their car and force them off the road until they arrived at the home in the 1200 block of Foster Road.

When the alleged victims got to the house, the man jumped out of the passenger side of the car, and Snowden tried to hit him with his car, the affidavit stated. Snowden then allegedly started waving his hands in the air and pointing something that appeared to be a hand gun at the man and his girlfriend.

At that point, the woman tried to hide the children behind her car, and the man jumped into his truck, the affidavit stated. When Snowden left the residence on Foster Road, the man followed him in an attempt to keep him away from his girlfriend and the children.

According to the affidavit, Snowden and the man wound up being involved in a motor vehicle accident that was investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

When the responding deputy spoke to the woman, she told him that she cannot go anywhere without Snowden showing up, the affidavit stated. She also told the deputy that Snowden that continuously calls her and sends her threatening text messages.

The woman also said that she had received more than 15 calls and text messages from Snowden the day before the incident on Foster Road, the affidavit stated. She also said that two days prior to the incident, Snowden followed her to Lufkin's Planet Fitness, and when she left the gym he tried several times to hit her with his vehicle, the affidavit stated.

According to the affidavit, the woman feared for her life on both occasions.
