ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) - One man was injured in an early morning accident Tuesday on US Highway 69 near Rifle Road involving an 18-wheeler and a pickup.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at about 5:14 a.m. Tuesday on US 69 near Rifle Road in Angelina County. The preliminary accident investigation indicates that Delgado Euton Henry, 57, of Dallas, was driving 2007 Mack truck when he made a U-turn in the northbound lanes of US 69.

As Henry was making the U-turn, a northbound 2007 Toyota pickup driven by Jason Charles Dubose, 25, of Lufkin, struck the side of Henry's trailer. Dubose's pickup went under the trailer and went through a fence after it wound up in the ditch alongside the road.

Dubose was airlifted to East Texas Medical Center-Tyler for treatment of his injuries. Henry was not injured in the wreck, according to the press release.

The wreck is still under investigation.
