Warrant Sweep Scheduled For Friday

Have you forgotten about that old traffic ticket you got last year? If you think you might have an outstanding warrant because of a traffic ticket or some other violation, you may want to have it checked out, or face being arrested.

Lufkin police will be conducting a warrant sweep across the city this Friday. They'll be arresting those with outstanding warrants for traffic and other violations. Officers say if you want to avoid being arrested at home or on the job, you may want to check to see if you have a warrant before Friday rolls around.

Sgt. Rodney Squyres of the Lufkin Police Department said, "it could save you a lot of inconvenience by coming on in and taking care of it. It will be mostly traffic warrants, it could be Class C theft or Class C assault."

To find out if you have an outstanding warrant, you can call the Lufkin City Marshall Bryan Smith at 633-0259.
