NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - On Tuesday, deputies with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office arrested a 53-year-old man in connection to allegations that he had sexually assaulted a young girl multiple times in the period from November 2006 to March 2008.
Jose Duran, of Jacksonville, is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a first-degree felony aggravated assault of a child charge. His bail amount has been set $1 million.
According to the arrest affidavit, the alleged victim told her mother in March 2008 that Duran had been molesting her since November of 2006, first at a house in Shelby County and later at a residence on Nacogdoches County.
The alleged victim told investigators that on Jan. 1, 2008, he pulled her pants down, forced her to lie on a desk, and "licked her," the affidavit stated.
During the interview with investigators, the girl's mother told authorities that Duran had tried to have sex with her sister in the past, and at the time, her sister was 16.
"The victim told investigators that he the defendant had molested her on several occasions and that he had threatened to whip the victim if she ever told anyone what he had done," the affidavit stated.
