LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Despite a reschedule due to record rainfall in May, Brookshire Brothers was able to host a successful charity golf tournament for the Brookshire Brothers Charitable Foundation.
The semi-annual tournament was held Monday at Crown Colony Country Club and featured vendors from across the country. The money raised at the event will be put back into area non-profits. Representatives fro Brookshire Brothers played side-by-side with the vendors. The vendors were also able to interact with representatives from different non-profits.
"They know it is going to a worthwhile effort and it is a pleasure to get to meet those vendors," said Clint Conner with the Alzheimer's Association.
"It's a great day to showcase what Brookshire Brothers does for our community and how they work together with their vendors," said Rebecca Brightwell with the Junior League of Lufkin.
The event brought in over $100,000.
