True Blue

For one East Texas family law enforcement is a way of life. They are the Brazils.

Among them are three Department of Public Safety sergeants and the Lufkin chief of police. To have four members of a family in law enforcement means a greater chance of somebody getting hurt.

But, these men say they have the personalities to get the job done.

Sgt. James Brazil, who works out of Nacogdoches, said, "I think we are all pretty level headed, and career-oriented. Our dad taught us to never quit anything we've started."

Chief Larry Brazil has been with law enforcement for 36 years now. The three brothers have been there for each other during some tough cases including numerous pursuits, the James Byrd tragedy, and dangerous traffic stops.
