TRINITY COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A flagger on a construction crew working on State Highway 94 in Trinity County has suffered serious injuries in a hit-and-run accident Thursday morning.

Sheriff Woody Wallace said the driver was an older white man driving an older model gray Toyota. It was headed toward Groveton.

Anyone having information on the driver is urged to call the sheriff's office at 936-642-1244.

TxDOT spokeswoman Rhonda Oaks said the worker is an employee of contractor CDM Holdings and was hit by a mirror of a passing vehicle near White Rock Creek. Oaks said the worker was taken by ambulance to a Trinity hospital to determine whether or not to take airlift him to a different hospital.
