NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A deputy with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 46-year-old Houston woman for allegedly driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 in the car late Sunday night.

Patricia Elaine Perkins is still being held in the Nacogdoches County Jail on a state-jail felony driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15 charge. No bail amount has been set at this time.

According to the NCSO’s daily activity report, the deputy was dispatched to help Nacogdoches Police officers locate a suspect in a possible kidnapping that occurred at 5000 North Street. A short time later, the NCSO spotted Perkins’ vehicle near the intersection of Westward Drive and FM 1638 and made a traffic stop.

The report stated that Perkins showed signs of intoxication. A child was found inside her vehicle, but he or she hadn’t been kidnapped, according to the report.

Perkins was arrested at the scene and taken to the county jail.
