DPS releases ID of woman killed in Angelina Co. wreck

ANGELINA COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A Lufkin woman has died following a rollover wreck on FM 2251 in Angelina County.

The wreck occurred between the intersections of FM 2021 and FM 843.

It happened around 12:50 p.m.

Trooper David Flowers said Sherri Dail Simms McCathern, 45, was driving a 2003 Chevy Silverado southbound on the 5800 block of FM 2251 when she started going off the road. She overcompensated and ran off the other side of the road and crashed into a fence before flipping the truck.

Flowers said McCathern was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from it.

She died at the scene.
