Firefighter Suffers Injury While Battling House Fire

A Captain with the South Nacogdoches Fire Department suffered what is described by the Chief as a "slight" injury while fighting a house fire.

According to Fire Chief Ron Turner, his son, Captain Mark Turner suffered some minor burns to his head due to falling debris.

The house fire occurred at 2007 Briar Forest in Nacogdoches County around six o'clock Tuesday evening. The chief said that about 80 percent of the interior of the home was destroyed. He also said that the fire is under an arson investigation, but couldn't go into any more details.

No one else was injured in the fire.
