LIVINGSTON, TX (KTRE) -

A Livingston bicyclist is dead after he was hit by a car Sunday night.

According to Livingston Police Lt. Matt Parish, 21 year-old Jose Garcia-Lara was riding his bicycle in the turn lane in the 600 block of East Church Street around 8:26 p.m.

Garcia-Lara was struck by 46 year-old Misty Aguilar who was attempting to turn into a sub-division.

According to Parish Garcia-Lara was transported to Conroe Regional Medical Center where he later died.

"There were no signs of drug or alcohol abuse by the driver," Parish said. "It looks like she just wasn't able to see him when she turned. She has been very cooperative with us on the case."

Parish said the crash is still under investigation and an autopsy has been ordered.
