JASPER, TX (KTRE) - Jasper police say an officer has resigned after an investigation which showed he was sleeping in a patrol car for nearly five hours while on the job.
Det. Garrett Foster said Officer James Steven Hopson chose to resign after the acting chief gave him the option to be fired or resign.
Foster said the investigation began after "policy violation suspicions" with Hopson.
Hopson had been with the department for nearly three years.
