Commissioners Change Patrol Plans

There's been a change in plans about buying new patrol cars for the sheriff's department in San Augustine County.

County commissioners originally decided to buy three patrol cars because several patrol cars at the sheriff's department are broken down.  Now, county leaders say it will be a lot cheaper to buy two cars and fix a transmission in one of the cars they already have. That means the county will spend $30,000 instead of $45,000.

San Augustine residents are also talking about hosting several fundraisers to help the county collect the money it needs.
