TRINITY, TX (KTRE) - Trinity Police officers arrested a volunteer firefighter Friday in connection to allegations that he groped a 16-year-old girl on Sept. 25.
Ricky Harrelson, 51, of Trinity, was arrested and charged with felony indecency with a child. He has since posted a bail amount of $20,000 and has been released from jail.
Trinity Police Chief Steven Jones said 16-year-old alleged victim made the outcry. He said she stayed away from him and reported the alleged groping incident to her family members last week, and they reported it to the Trinity Police Department on Friday.
Jones said because Harrelson is a volunteer firefighter and a city employee, he had a conflict of interest, so he called in Texas Ranger Steven Jeter to help with the investigation.
After Jeter arrived in Trinity later Friday, they interviewed Harrelson. Jones said Harrelson was cooperative and provided a confession. Harrelson was arrested and charged with indecency with a child.
