Report: Lufkin man who broke church window, told jailer he'd be right back

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - After he told a jailer that he would be right back while he was going through the release process at the Angelina County Jail, a man was arrested a short time later for allegedly breaking a window at a nearby church Monday morning.

Terry Tyrone Jones, 52, of Lufkin is still being held in the Angelina County Jail on a state-jail felony criminal mischief - damage/destroy a house of worship charge. His bail amount has been set at $2,000.

According to the Lufkin Police Department's daily activity report, Jones allegedly told an Angelina County Sheriff's Office deputy that he broke the window, so he could go back to jail. A jailer told the arresting LPD officer that Jones said he would be right back when he was going through the release process.
