LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Organizers with the Junior Achievement of Angelina County's "Race for Success" are looking for a few East Texans to help with their race later this month.
Volunteers will be there to help the runners with directing traffic, cheering them on, and passing out water.
"For the JA Race For Success, we're still looking for volunteers. What the volunteers can expect to do is cheer on the runners along the course of the 5K, 10K and half marathon," explained Michelle Harlow Green, the executive director of Junior Achievement of Angelina County. "We also need some volunteers to direct traffic this year."
The race is set for Saturday October, 24th at Slack Elementary. Runners can sign up for the 5K, 10K, and half-marathon courses that will go through Lufkin.
This year, the event will feature a race-day vendor square including business from around Angelina County.
