NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

One woman wants Nacogdoches and other communities to attend an event Monday night and say thank you to Nacogdoches law enforcement. Nacogdoches resident Sue Beth Burk calls it Support Our Law Enforcement, or SOLE.

"Just tell them thank you and we appreciate you not only this day on Monday,” Burk said. “This just happened to be a date, but hopefully we can initiate this. People can outside this county and other counties and within the state and the parishes and the United States of America, let them know we care when they protect us."

S.O.L.E. Day is Monday, Oct. 19, and it will marked by an event at 5:30 at the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center. Members of law enforcement will speak about times when they felt they made a difference. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend.
