NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

"Enough is enough, this must stop," said Sue Beth Burk, coordinator or S.O.L.E.

That was the message, loud and clear, tonight as members of the Nacogdoches community gathered with local law enforcement.

Event organizers say tonight's goal was simply to let law enforcement know the community stands behind them.

Many who attended feel similar events are a necessary show of support during a rough time for law enforcement.

"My desire is that we go nationwide in appreciation and gratitude for the people who 24/7 protect us daily," Burk said.

Tonight's 'SOLE' or Supporting Our Law Enforcement event featured officers, including the Nacogdoches police chief and sheriff speaking about times when they felt they made a difference in the community.
