Trinity man arrested for allegedly slapping child hard enough to leave marks

TRINITY, TX (KTRE) -

A 29-year-old Trinity man was arrested on for state-jail felony injury to a child/elderly/disabled Monday in connection to allegations that he slapped a child in the face hard enough to knock him or her to the ground.

Officer Randy Wheeler noticed what appeared to be a road rage incident happening by the post office, according to Officer Bureal Ferguson, a spokesman for the Trinity Police Department.

Ferguson said Jason Fransaw allegedly followed a woman around town from Trinity to Huntsville. 

Once authorities caught up to the woman, officers noticed the child with her had fingerprints and welts on the left side of his or her face. According to the mother of the child, Fransaw had slapped the child in the face hard enough to knock him or her to the ground three hours earlier.
