Arrest pending in alleged machete attack in Nacogdoches

NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) -

The Nacogdoches Police Department is searching for the suspect in an alleged machete attack that occurred at a home in the 600 block of West Seale Street on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the police report, the alleged assault occurred at about 3:19 p.m. on Tuesday. During a disturbance, a man was attacked by another man armed with a machete, the police report stated.

The victim suffered numerous cuts to the head and body, along with a head injury. He is at a Nacogdoches hospital and is in serious condition, the police report state.

The alleged assault is still under investigation, and an arrest warrant is pending for the suspect, who fled the scene before NPD officers arrived.
