Police arrest juvenile suspect in window-vandal incidents in Downtown Lufkin

LUFKIN, TX (AP) - Lufkin Police have arrested a juvenile suspect allegedly involved in five reported vandalism incidents where rocks and bricks were thrown through Downtown Lufkin business windows.

The most recent incidents were reported Tuesday morning at Rick's Sewing Machine Repair, A Furniture Fetish and First Street Wireless with the suspect or suspects causing more than $2,000 in damages.

Last week, downtown business owners at Hop & S Graphics and Toledo Finance Company reported similar incidents, which are believed by detectives to be related.

According to Lufkin PD Spokesperson Jessica Pebsworth, the suspect is a juvenile and further information regarding the case will not be released.
