LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - Lufkin police have arrested a man accused of stealing an air-conditioning unit from his employer and also using company credit cards for personal use.
Florentine Flores III, 40, of Lufkin, is charged with two counts of state-jail felony credit card abuse and one count of state-jail felony theft.
According to an arrest affidavit, Flores took an air-conditioning unit from Deep East Texas Heating and Air, who he worked for, and installed it at someone's home and took all the money for it.
This was discovered after the customer contacted the business and asked about having the work completed. The company then contacted police because they had not authorized for that work to be done.
Once Flores was fired, his supervisor cleaned out his work vehicle and found a credit card inside it. It was then he learned Flores had charged a total of $938.67 on a card he was not even authorized to use.
In addition to taking the AC unit, the affidavit states Flores took $1,300 in cash from the customer.
Flores was booked on the charges on Wednesday. His bond was not set as of noon Thursday.
