Huntington Man Dies After Car Loses Control And Hits Tree

It's been a busy weekend for traffic accidents in East Texas. A Huntington man died Saturday night after his vehicle struck a tree.

Forty-eight-year-old Terry Parker died after authorities say he was traveling too fast on a curve, lost control, and struck the tree. Troopers say he was driving 84 miles-per-hour on FM 844, which has a speed limit of 55. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

DPS authorities say they sent off blood work, and there could be other contributing factors to the accident.
