Alcohol suspected in fatal 1-vehicle wreck in Polk Co.

POLK COUNTY, TX (KTRE) -

A one-vehicle crash on FM 3126 in Polk County resulted in the death of a 74-year-old Goodrich man late Wednesday night.

According to a press release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Polk County DPS trooper responded to a report of a one-vehicle accident on FM 3126 at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday.

A 2011 Ford Mustang driven by Harvey Hogg went off the road in a curve, drove over a driveway, and came to rest in the woods a “substantial distance” from the road.

Hogg was taken from the scene of the wreck to a Livingston hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:05 a.m. Thursday.

“Alcohol is suspect and an autopsy has been requested,” the press release stated.

The accident is still under investigation at this time.
