LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) - When the Oliver Hair Salon began their fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, they had no idea it would be such a big hit.
The salon has been selling pink extensions for 5 dollars a piece in honor of some of their clients that have had breast cancer.
Their goal was to raise $1,000. They ended up raising $1,100. The salon is amazed by the support of the community.
"They've donated, they've come in and it's been a huge success," said hair stylist Roy Crager. "I'm really honored by it. It has been such a good thing!"
The salon will be donating the money to Relay For Life in April which will go to the American Cancer Society.
The salon is considering making the fundraiser an annual event.
