The Nacogdoches Dragons have one last chance they need to capitalize on in order to make the playoffs. The final chapter of their season will be dictated on Friday when they take on the 16-5A undefeated John Tyler Lions.
The Dragons must win this game if they want a shot at the post season and they also need Corsicana to lose to Ennis. If Corsicana wins, head-to-head Nacogdoches would fall to the Tigers.
Momentum is currently going the Dragons way as they're on a three game winning streak, and they're hoping that hot streak will carry over for their district finale.
“All the last three games have been huge for us. If we lost, we're out of it and we just got to take care of our business,” said head coach Bobby Reyes. “We got to go play the way we're capable of playing and if we do that, we're going to leave it in our hands. That's what we got to do. We can't worry about Corsicana and Ennis.”
“With how good we've been doing week by week, I feel like it's going to be a really good game and I feel like we are capable of pulling off the win,” said senior safety Brandon Jones. “We just got to play them as another team and not as being ‘John Tyler.’”
Nacogdoches will be hosting John Tyler on their senior night this Friday starting at 7:30 p.m.
