NACOGDOCHES, TX (KTRE) - Downtown Nacogdoches will be busy with two popular activities Saturday night.
On one side of the street will be the Día de los Muertos celebration. Elsewhere will be the 30th Nacogdoches Art Walk.
The Cole Art Center and the streets around it is where you'll find a cheerful celebration of life, honoring the souls of the deceased.
Food, music and colorful costumes will be featured in the downtown processional, which will be the event's highlight.
And if you want to take a break from the "fiesta atmosphere," you can duck into a number of art galleries featuring the work of local artists.
"I think there are about six galleries that are participating and they all have original art in them and it's an opportunity for people to realize how much talent we have in Nacogdoches," said Peggy Fare, the owner of Art Exchange.
The Art Walk is from 4 to 8 Saturday night. Día de los Muertos Fiesta is set for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. also on Saturday.
