Center has a chance to finish their district season in undefeated fashion if they can get past Gladewater Friday night.
The Roughriders are currently 8-1 overall and 4-0 in district. Center is currently in first place of district 6-4A DII, while Gladewater is tied for second with Atlanta with a 3-1 record.
If Center wins, they take the district title outright. If Gladewater wins, they win the district. If Gladewater and Atlanta win Friday, head-to-head the district title would go to Atlanta. If Gladewater wins and Atlanta loses, it’s Gladewater who would win district 6-4A DII.
First-year head coach Barry Bowman has done a tremendous job turning over the Roughriders’ football program.
Center went from going 0-5 last year, to possibly finishing 5-0 this year. The 2015-16 football season has been the best season for Center in over 10 years.
Center will be in Gladewater Friday for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff time.
